Terms of use

Last updated: [date]

In short: CompaCity is free and needs no account. Offers and events come from the spots and organisers, so always check the details with them. Use the app fairly, for yourself.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the CompaCity mobile app and the compacity.gr website ("CompaCity"). CompaCity is run by [company or trader name], VAT no. (ΑΦΜ) [ΑΦΜ], [address], Greece ("we", "us").

By using CompaCity you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. The service

  • CompaCity lets you browse spots, their offers and upcoming events in your city.
  • It is free. There is no account, and nothing is sold through the app.
  • We may add, change or remove features, cities or content, and we may pause or end the service. We try to keep CompaCity available but cannot promise it will always work without interruption or errors.

3. Spots, offers and events

  • Information about spots, offers and events comes from the businesses and organisers themselves or from public sources. We take care to keep it accurate and up to date, but opening hours, prices, menus, offers and event details can change without notice.
  • Offers are given by each spot, not by us. They are subject to the spot's own conditions (such as hours, days or "one per table") and to availability. A spot may change or end an offer at any time.
  • Any purchase, booking or ticket is an agreement between you and the spot or organiser. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for the goods, services or events they provide.
  • Please check important details with the spot or organiser before you go.
  • Some listings involve alcohol or are meant for adults. In Greece alcohol may be sold only to people aged 18 or over.

4. Other apps and sites

CompaCity links to maps apps, menu pages, ticket sites, Instagram and your phone and email apps. Those services are run by others under their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content or how they work.

5. Using CompaCity fairly

You may use CompaCity for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape or reuse its content in bulk, or build a competing database from it;
  • interfere with the app, the website or the servers behind them, or try to get around their security;
  • decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms;
  • use CompaCity in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

6. Intellectual property

The CompaCity name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. Names, logos, photos and descriptions of spots and events belong to their owners and are shown with their permission or as allowed by law. Using CompaCity does not give you any rights to them. If you believe something in CompaCity infringes your rights, email us and we will look into it promptly.

7. Liability

CompaCity is a free information service. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from information provided by spots or organisers, from changed or withdrawn offers, from events that are changed or cancelled, or from the service being temporarily unavailable.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow this, including for intent or gross negligence, for harm to life, body or health, or your rights as a consumer under Greek Law 2251/1994 and EU law.

8. For businesses

If you run a spot or organise events and want to be listed, or want your information corrected or removed, email info@compacity.gr. We decide which spots and events appear in CompaCity and how they are shown.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will also announce it in the app or on our Instagram page. If you keep using CompaCity after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Greek law. Any dispute goes to the courts of Thessaloniki. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

Please contact us first, and we will try to resolve the issue. Consumers in Greece may also turn to the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή), www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr, for out-of-court resolution.
